Nature, Macro and Scenic Images

A little about myself...

First as an art student, then hobbyist, and now serious enthusiast, it seems photography has always been a part of my life. My 35 year career in Advertising and Print Production allowed me to master pro-level digital tools as they became available, an invaluable experience that carried over to my personal love of photography.

As the technology evolved, I gave up my darkroom in 1998 and fully embraced digital capture and post processing. I am active in several art organizations/camera clubs and show work locally on a regular basis. My images have received awards ranging from Honorable Mention to Best in Show/Photography.

And about my work...

The beauty of small intimate landscape and nature subjects are often my favorite to photograph. The very nature of everchanging natural light across a subject insures it is a unique capture. I prefer a narrow field of focus and carefully managed highlights/shadows to direct the viewer’s eye to the details that best tell the photograph’s story.

To me, an image is successful if the viewer experiences a sense of wonder and discovery in a subject that may have gone unnoticed. I use Photoshop and other digital tools to help bring my vision to life.
